McCabe Course Record Falls as Foursome Completes Weekend Round in Under Seven Hours
The foursome, whose names are being withheld to protect their respective marriages, completed their round in a blistering 6 hours and 47 minutes, shattering the previous record and confirming what many at McCabe have long suspected: that it is possible to play faster if you simply take a pocket double on South 9, Hole 3.
The record, which had stood since the fall of 2019, was broken on a Saturday morning by four men who declined to be named but were described by witnesses as “motivated” and “not interested in the hot dog at the turn.”
The group completed all 18 holes of the South and North tracks in 6 hours and 47 minutes, a pace that course officials noted was “technically possible but not encouraged.”
At no point did any member of the group take more than three practice swings. The sprinkler on South 7 was not a factor.
